We are working together to recruit an experienced Material Handler for their 100 strong plant operation team in Leeds.

Reporting directly to the Shift Team Leader and working a continental shift, you will be required to work as an integral part of the team and be able to demonstrate a good hands-on approach.

Purpose of the role

Performing manual and clerical duties related to the receiving of raw materials and ensuring          continuous material supply to the production machinery.

Key Task and Activities

  • Handling incoming or outgoing materials and compare identifying information against shipping information or other records
  • Examining incoming shipments for damage, contamination or shortages
  • Completing paperwork/forms required for documentation 
  • Operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet hand trucks to move stock reorganize storage
  • Controlling of material feed streams
  • Unloading of cap stock, organisation and tipping of goods to correct silos as per customer demands
  • Ensuring all material area housekeeping is of the highest standard
  • Cleaning of material filters
  • Supporting production requests

Our ideal candidate

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety practices
  • Good technical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Skilled in operating a forklift or other material handling equipment
  • Good IT skills
  • Experience of working as a material/ingredient compounder and dealing with bulk incoming ingredients/deliveries
  • Knowledge of 5S cleaning regimes
  • Experienced in working on and around HGV docking bays

Interpersonal Skills

  • Flexible with regards daily tasks, and show a willingness to assist as required
  • Capable of working as part of a team or on your own
  • Show initiative to problem solve as required
  • Great communication skills
