Our client was founded in 2005, currently employ over 75 members of staff and is active in much of Europe and South Africa with offices in Aldershot, Bolton, and Huddersfield, Cologne in Germany, plus Johannesburg and Cape Town.  The company holds a strong position in the UK, accounting for 25% of the British solar market. 

 

They offer an unrivalled service distributing photovoltaic systems all over the UK. Its business areas don't include just standard PV equipment but also self-consumption solutions, such as batteries and heat pumps.  They pride themselves on being forward thinking and dynamic, adapting quickly to market changes and as such continue to see success and growth in all of their markets.

 

We are working together to seek a confident and target driven New Business Developer with the ability to work alongside the Account Management team from their Huddersfield office. 

 

The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving their ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable contacting potential clients via email or phone and accurately identifying and qualifying opportunities for the Account Managers.

 

The skills required to excel in this position include:

 

  • Strong phone presence and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to flawlessly present and communicate in both written and verbal forms
  • Superior negotiating skills
  • Computer use competency and experience working with a CRM database
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Be able to successfully work on own initiative
  • Attention to detail
  • Researching organisations and individuals online (especially on social media) to identify new leads and potential new markets

 

Core Duties:

 

  • Taking positive action to develop new sales and relationship-building skills to increase person effectiveness and productivity
  • Promoting the company accurately to potential customers by making outbound telephone contact
  • Re-invigorating dormant accounts
  • Accurate data entry on the company CRM including setting up of new customer accounts and amending details on existing accounts
  • Excellent internal communication with the Account Managers
  • To achieve pre-agreed targets and deadlines set by the Sales Manager
  • Record and pass on accurate details of sales opportunities to the Sales Manager
  • Assisting with cost exercises to demonstrate competitiveness

 

  • Provide over the telephone training on our design tool and order process
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure industry trends and developments are acknowledged and understood
